Mini Surface Tablet – Rumors Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Will Release in June – Will Compete Against iPad Mini, Amazon (AMZN) Kindle Fire, Google’s Nexus 7

Rumors have it that tech giant Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) is now planning to release a mini version of the Microsoft Surface tablet anytime next month. With the first versions of Surface RT and Surface Pro not sold as per their expectations, Microsoft now plans to reduce the screen size to 7-9 inch, as per sources. Most of the component suppliers remain the same for Microsoft with the tablet having Processors of Intel and Nvidia, Batteries and Display of LG, and a Corning glass; among others.
Microsoft is also planning to have a more aggressive marketing campaign this time. If you are one living in Malaysia, Mexico, Austria or Australia, you might just be one of the first few to get their hands on this new tablet.
What’s more, rumors suggest that this next generation of Surface tablets might be integrated with Intel’s latest release Haswell chips which ensure longer battery backup and graphics performance, among other features. With Samsung having its whole series of tabs, Google’s recently launched Nexus and the Apple’s iPads for the biggies, It would be interesting sight to see how successful Microsoft is to but also compete with the established brands.
One more constraint in the earlier versions was that there was a big gap between the announcement and release and availability of the device, which led to the loss of interest and an impact on the sales. As far as this does not happen this time around, we might just see Microsoft Surface tablets breaking its way into the market. The only question – would the Surface tablets actually be able to take on Apple iPad, Samsung, Google Nexus, and Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablets?
